Who are we for?
The Late Shift is a place for people who work (paid or unpaid) or who are studying full-time.

What are our aims?
The aim of our service is to reduce the stress experienced by people who cannot easily access other means of support because of work and study commitments.

What do we offer?
We offer a friendly environment comprising a mixture of informal spaces to share experiences and access one-to-one support, as well as more structured group programmes focusing on ways of reducing stress.

The informal space includes having the opportunity to meet and talk to other people. This can be beneficial as having the chance to talk through the day with someone can help reduce tension and feelings of isolation. Refreshments, newspapers and access to other support agencies are also available.

Some groups use techniques based on cognitive behaviour therapy to help people learn new ways of dealing with difficult emotions and situations in a more positive, pro-active way. Other groups focus more on physical based relaxation techniques.

What does it cost?
The service is free, except for refreshments.

Is it confidential?
All personal information given is confidential within the service unless you give us permission to share it. The only exception to this is if we have reason to believe that there is a risk of harm to you or to other people, or if there is an issue of child protection.

Respecting diversity
Everyone over 16 is welcome. We value and respect people's differences, such as sexual orientation, HIV status, ethnicity, culture, gender and disabilities.
