Complementary Therapies
The Complementary Therapies course will give participants the opportunity to experience a range of free complementary therapies to promote wellbeing and provide a space to de-stress.

Five Ways to Wellbeing
The 5 ways to Wellbeing has been developed by the New Economics Foundation and has been evidenced to improve wellbeing. The 5 Ways to Wellbeing are To Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give; This course will look at what wellbeing means to us and will use the 5 Ways to Wellbeing as a framework to explore ways in that we can look after and promote our personal wellbeing, exploring one topic each week. The course will be interactive, discussion based and experiential.

The Mindful Way of Living
Often in life we get caught up in “doing” rather than “being” - This course will look at ways that we can address this and step out automatic pilot. The course will look at different techniques to promote ways that we can become more aware, take notice of our experiences and adopt a mindful way of living. This is not a Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioural Therapy course but will draw on some techniques used in mindfulness.

Mindfulness for Students
This course provides students with the opportunity to learn strategies to better cope with depression and anxiety. The course draws on a variety of techniques based on Mindfulness Meditation and elements of cognitive therapy.

Nutrition & Wellbeing
This course will look at the nutritional values of the food and will explore how these can affect our health and wellbeing. The course is interactive, discussion based and informal. Each week the group will explore different topics including good fats and bad fats, carbohydrates, amino acids, whole and refined foods and organic and non organic foods. The course will give people simple ideas for alternative foods to try with a view to promote our health and wellbeing.

Relaxation
This course gives the opportunity for people to practice using a different relaxation technique each week including meditation, guided relaxation and relaxing with the breath.

Relaxation the Mindful Way
This six week course provides lunch time relaxation and provides the opportunity to switch off and manage stress and every day life in a calmer manner. No former experience or knowledge about relaxation or meditation needed, although people who have attended previous relaxation courses are also welcome.

Each week covers a different topic including how we manage the stresses of everyday life, managing worry, challenging our thoughts, comfort zones and recognising our own self worth. The course is interactive and informal.

Skills for Living: 'Managing Life' for women only
The Skills for Living course is designed to help participants manage life, giving them the skills and tools needed to promote good mental health and to better manage their wellbeing. Each week covers a different topic including how we manage the stresses of everyday life, managing worry, challenging our thoughts, comfort zones and recognising our own self worth. The course is interactive and informal and is offered for women only, running as part of the Women Only service at The Mill.

Wellbeing for Parents
Being a parent can be a life changing experience that can bring new challenges. This course focuses on parent’s wellbeing and is designed to promote discussion and provide simple tools and techniques that can be used to combat the stresses and strains of parenthood. An integral part of the course is to recognise our achievements and give credit to ourselves for the things that we do well. The course is informal, interactive and open to any parent aged 16 and above, there are crèche facilities available, should you require a space please book with the Children’s Centre on 01865 341 310.

Wellbeing for Women
Weekly sessions to include relaxation, alternative therapies, crafts, coping with stress and lively discussions about how to look after ourselves. This course is running at Bicester Children’s Centre and will give parents the opportunity to experience a range of complementary therapies, craft session to promote wellbeing and de-stress. All therapies are free and there are crèche spaces available so you can relax and unwind whilst the children are being looked after. Yoga
This course is run by a trained yoga instructor and will introduce the basics of yoga, including stances and movements for beginners – no previous experience is required. Each session will be interactive, dynamic and will feel like exercise. The course is open to anyone aged over 16 and is open to mixed abilities, people can engage with the exercises at a level that is comfortable for them and are encouraged not to overstretch or push themselves.
