English for Speakers of Eastern European Languages
These courses provide a space for people to practice and improve their English language skills, they are facilitated by a worker from the Saturday Polish School who has qualified teacher status (QTS). Class one is for beginners and class two is for more advanced beginners and runs alongside the Eastern European Przestrzen Peer Support Group. Each week you will progress through the English for Life workbook at a Beginner (Class 1) or Elementary level (Class 2). The course is not accredited and does not provide people with a qualification, however your knowledge is tested throughout the course so you can see the progress you have made. The group finishes with an exam when the workbook is complete, the length of the course on average is 8 – 10 sessions and will vary depending on different groups. There is a small weekly fee of £3/h made payable to the Saturday Polish School to subsidise the cost of running this course. Anyone is able to access these courses at any point and will be encouraged to come along to a session to see if it is the right course for you, and which class you should be accessing. For more information about these courses please contact Jola Maciejewska from Polish Saturday School.
