What is the Oxfordshire Mind Groupwork Programme?
Oxfordshire Mind has many years of experience in running Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based groups to help people learn to cope with anxiety or depression and help to build self esteem. The CBT Groups are part of the TalkingSpace service.
What is cognitive behavioural therapy?
It is a practical, problem-solving therapy which aims to change patterns of thinking or behaviour that underlie emotional difficulties, and so change the way people feel about themselves and relate to others.
Who runs the groups?
They are run by experienced Mind mental health workers and a Clinical Psychologist from the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, working as part of the TalkingSpace service.
How long does a group last?
Most groups run for between eight to ten weeks.
Is there a group near me?
Groups run in Oxford City and in towns across Oxfordshire.
What if I work during the day?
There is a mixture of daytime and evening groups.
How much do they cost?
They are free of charge.
How will I know if an Oxfordshire Mind group is right for me?
You will have an individual assessment appointment.
What does an assessment involve?
This is an informal and confidential meeting that lasts about an hour in which you can discuss face-to-face your needs and difficulties with the group facilitators.
How do I book an assessment?
Assessments are held in the weeks prior to the start of the group and can be booked by calling Rebecca Evans on the number below.
